A lecture by Boris Kolonitsky on the history of the February 1917 revolution will be held at the Yabloko Party University
Press Release, 23.11.2022
On 6 December, the Yabloko Party University will hold a lecture by Boris Kolonitsky “February? Bourgeois? Democratic? Revolution?” about the history of the revolution in Russia in February 1917, which preceded the October 1917 coup. The lecture will begin at 18:00 (Moscow time). The lecturer is Boris Kolonitsky, professor at the European University at St. Petersburg and leading researcher at the St. Petersburg Institute of History of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The history of the Russian revolution of February 1917 continues to be highly ideologically charged: our contemporaries continue to identify themselves with the political actors of 100 years ago. At the same time, people of different views, although they assess the significance of the revolution in different ways, continue to use some schemes of Soviet historiography. The lecturer will offer some “obvious” interpretations of the history of the revolution.
The lecture will be held at the office of the party in Moscow (Pyatnitskaya 31 building 2, conference room on the 4th floor), and will also be broadcast on YouTube.
