Artur Gaiduk, a Yabloko deputy of the Pskov Regional Assembly of Deputies, proposes to the Governor, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Border Guard Department of the Federal Security Service to provide people who are trying to cross the border with warm tents for the night, dry closets, hot meals, warm clothes, personal hygiene products and medicines.

There are children and elderly people among the hundreds of people waiting in a multi-day queue at the border. People wait up to seven days to cross the border with Russia at checkpoints in the Pechora, Sebezh and Pytalovsky regions in the open air. The absolute majority of them are citizens of Ukraine.

Volunteers help refugees who got stuck at the border, but there are not enough people and resources to help everyone in need. The situation is close to critical.

Deputy of the Pskov Regional Assembly Artur Gaiduk and deputy of the Pskov City Duma Tatyana Pasman, elected from Yabloko, together with volunteers from the Yabloko branch in the Pskov region visited the Shumilkino checkpoint and the Kunichina Gora checkpoint on 2 October so that to transfer aid, and personally assessed the scale of the disaster.

Artur Gaiduk sent deputy’s appeals to Mikhail Vedernikov, Governor of the Pskov region, Sergei Lavrukhin, acting head of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and Andrei Paramonov, head of the regional border department of the Federal Security Service.

Artur Gaiduk asks Andrei Paramonov to expedite the process of crossing the border of the RF for the refugees.

The Pskov Yabloko team continues raising funds for humanitarian aid for refugees and recruits volunteers to distribute food and help in transportation.
