The Yabloko Party announces its traditional annual collection of books for libraries for the upcoming Library Day, 27 May. This year, books will be collected for the library of the city of Novorzhev, the Pskov region.
Today, this library is one of the few venues in the city for cultural communication and education for both children and adults. Particular attention should be paid to the children’s books fund, which is not only small, but also considerably outdated.
Yabloko Chairman Nikolai Rybakov visited the library during his trip to the Pskov region in April, and together with Lev Shlosberg, Chairman of the Pskov branch of Yabloko, donated children’s books to the library. Then it was decided to organise an additional collection of books timed to the Library Day.
Everyone can take part in the action. One can donate books from one’s personal library or buy new books. You can send them to the library at three addresses:
Moscow, Pyatnitskaya 31 k.2. The Yabloko party office
Pskov, Nekrasova 29. The office of the Pskov branch of the Yabloko party
Novorzhev, Germana 65. The Novorzhev Library
Books must be in good condition. They can be of different genres, by both Russian and foreign authors.
In 2020, Yabloko already held such a campaign for the Library Day. Then the party organised collection of books for the burned-out library of the village of Yermolayevo in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
