Timofey Bezugly was elected Chairman of the Chelyabinsk city branch of the Yabloko party. Timofey presented to the local Council of the party his programme for the development of the local branch for the next two years.

Timofey represents a new generation in the Yabloko party, he is 21 and is currently studying at a medical university. Timofey is a principled supporter of liberal democratic values ​​and reforms. Over the past year, Timofey has repeatedly criticised the legislation on foreign agents that stifles the free media and NGOs and the ruling party that adopted all these repressive laws.

Last year, Timofey joined the team of the Chelyabinsk Yabloko, and in the past elections to the State Duma he successfully performed as a Press Secretary of the branch.

“We intend to fight for the return of direct elections of the Mayor of Chelyabinsk, we intend to expand Yabloko’s influence in city politics and offer real solutions to pressing problems,” Timofey Bezugly commented on the election.

The local Council of the Yabloko branch will help Timofey to implement the plans.

The meeting also elected delegates from Chelyabinsk to the regional Yabloko conference, which in early February will have to elect the governing bodies of the Yabloko party in the Chelyabinsk region.
