The Moscow City Duma supported two amendments by the Yabloko faction to the Moscow budget for 2022: on the restoration of historical monuments and on grants for Moscow universities. The financing for the implementation of these two amendments exceeds two billion roubles, they will be financed from the reserve fund.

An amendment to finance the restoration of three historical monuments was introduced by Vladimir Ryzhkov, a Yabloko deputy of the Moscow City Duma. It is planned to allocate 1.1 billion roubles in 2022 for the repair and restoration works of the Yauzskaya City Hospital, the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Novy Vagankovo ​​and the Church of Peter and Paul in Novaya Basmannaya.

Yevgeny Bunimovich, a Yabloko deputy of the Moscow City Duma and a former Ombudsman for Children’s Rights in Moscow, is the author of the amendment on the allocation of grants to Moscow universities. According to the amendment, the budgetary allocations to finance grants to universities located in Moscow will rise by 1 billion roubles so that to support engineering, medical, academic, and IT classes in schools. This measure will contribute to the development of subject specific and pre-professional training of high school students.

Earlier, the Moscow City Duma supported Yabloko’s amendment to Moscow legislation on exempting non-state universities from paying property tax. This measure will affect non-state universities with state accreditation, which have dormitories on their balance sheets, and will stimulate the construction of new dormitories with attraction of private investment.
