Yabloko’s Anti-Corruption Policy Centre: The fund that allocated money for the campaign of Valeria Kasamara, candidate to the Moscow City Duma, received a grant from the Mayor of Moscow
Press Release, 11.09.2019
Yabloko’s Anti-Corruption Policy Centre found out that the fund that rendered support to Valeria Kasamara, candidate to the Moscow City Duma, received a grant from the Mayor of Moscow.
On 11 September, 2019, the results of the grant competition of the Moscow Mayor for socially oriented non-profit organisations for 2019 were announced. The National Education Resources Fund received 782,000 roubles for the project “Digital Quests for Teenagers: Online Security and the First Profession”.
The fund is known for donating 15,450,000 roubles in the election campaign to the Moscow City Duma to Valeria Kasamara. At the same time, the fund is a socially oriented non-profit organisation.
The Open Media previously reported that the National Education Resources Foundation was established by the public organisation All-Russian Pedagogical Assembly, which is registered at the same address as the United Russia headquarters in Banny Pereulok 3, Moscow.
“Since Kasamara is part of the team of Mayor Sobyanin, there are all the signs of political corruption. First, the fund helps Sobyanin’s team, then the Mayor partially redeems these expenses through grants with the taxpayers’ money,” Alexei Chumakov, Deputy Director of the Yabloko Anti-Corruption Policy Centre noted.
