On Tuesday, 19 January, the leaders, members and supporters of the Yabloko party will lay flowers at the scene of the murder of lawyer Stanislav Markelov and journalist Anastasia Baburova in Prechistenka Street in Moscow.
Stanislav Markelov and Anastasia Baburova were shot dead by neo-Nazis from the BORN group on 19 January, 2009.
“We hold this memorial action every year, because the threat of fascisation of the state remains high, radical groups continue to enjoy the support of the authorities. It is our duty to talk about it, and remind of it. Our responsibility is to prevent politically motivated murders,” Kirill Goncharov, the organiser of the action and a member of the Yabloko Federal Bureau, noted.
The meeting point of participants is by the Kropotkinskaya metro station at 11:40 a.m. The action will start at 12:00.
