YABLOKO to participate in the Demonstration in support of the political prisoners of the Bolotnaya Square rallies case

On February 2, YABLOKO activists will participate in the Demonstration in support of the political prisoners of the Bolotnaya Square rallies case. YABLOKO’s column will be led by party leader Sergei Mitrokhin. The action has got a permission from the Moscow authorities.
The route of the demonstrators will be from Pushkin Square to Turgenev Square via Strastnoy, Petrovsky and Rozhdestvensky Boulevards. It is expected that up to 15,000 will join the demonstration. The YABLOKO party protests against the huge imprisonment terms – from five to six years – the state prosecution has asked for the defendants. in the “Swamp cause” enormous terms from five to six years ‘ imprisonment.
“We are urging Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow to throw off the yoke of the “telephone justice” and make a ruling which will base on the principles of humanity and common sense. All eight defendants must be freed! ” runs the official statement of the party.
The latest demonstration in support of the political prisoners was held in Moscow on October 27, 2013. YABLOKO activists also participated in that demonstration. The total number of the demonstrators was around 4,500 – 6,000 people then.
YABLOKO activists will gather in front of Izvestia office on February 2 at 14:45.
