Yabloko to launch the Candidate School for future municipal deputies

In September 2020, the Yabloko party will launch the Candidate School – an educational project as part of the campaign to prepare for the 2022 municipal elections in Moscow.
The training course will help potential candidates to accomplish the following:
– broaden their knowledge on local self-government as a special form of public authority;
– better understand the competences of a municipal deputy;
– get an idea of the modern forms of self-organisation of citizens and local communities, which are the basis of local self-government;
– study the legal basis for the activities of self-government (Federal Law No 131, the Housing Code, the Law on NGOs, etc.);
– in the course of live communication, learn from the experience of current municipal deputies and heads of districts;
– competently conduct an election campaign.
On Friday, September 4, the first lecture on the topic “Community. Neighbourhood. Good Neighborliness” will be conducted. The lecture will be devoted to territorial public self-government in Russia as a basis for the development of local self-government in our country.
Lecturer: Yelena Shomina, Professor at the Higher School of Economics, Doctor of Political Sciences, Candidate of Historical Sciences.
The lecture will take place at 19:00. The address: Moscow, Pyatnitskaya 31, building 2, the 4th floor.
