The Yabloko Party continues preparations for the elections to the State Duma that are due in September 2021. Yabloko Chairman Nikolai Rybakov and Deputy Chairman Ivan Bolshakov are holding a working meeting with representatives of the regional branches of the party in Kazan on February 19 – 21. Also a number of meetings and seminars are planned with delegates from Volgograd, Kirov, Samara, Saratov, Ulyanovsk, Astrakhan, Tula, Ryazan and Moscow regions, the Republics of Mordovia, Chuvashia, Bashkiria, Tatarstan and the Perm Territory. The participants of the meetings will discuss the issues of the 2021 election campaign and the main areas of party work: holding a party congress, formation of electoral lists of party candidates and campaigning.

“We go on preparing for the elections to the State Duma. We have every chance to win and form a democratic faction in the Russian parliament, defending the interests of civil society and all Russians who want changes,” Nikolai Rybakov, Yabloko Chairman, said.

During their visit to Kazan, the party leaders have already visited the specially protected natural area Russian-German Switzerland, where the authorities plan to build a multi-lane highway. This caused a public outcry, since the construction will damage the environment and archaeological sites in this area. “Construction of a highway to the detriment of nature is unacceptable,” Rybakov noted.

In addition, the party Chairman will give interviews to local media and hold a meeting with the public of the region – representatives of culture, science and businesses of Tatarstan.

In March, visits and working meetings are planned in Yekaterinburg and Krasnoyarsk. In early April, Yabloko will hold a party congress, it will be devoted to internal party reform.
