Yabloko launches collection of signatures against the war with Ukraine
Press Release, 13.02.2022
The Yabloko party launches collection of signatures against the war with Ukraine. Signatures under a petition to the Russian government will be collected not only on the Internet, but also in the offices of Yabloko across the country. Yabloko activists will go on pickets in the regions where covid sanitary restrictions allow. The list of collection points will be published soon.
The petition runs:
NO TO WAR!
The war with Ukraine that Vladimir Putin has been preparing will bring tragedies to people, destroy families, and take thousands of lives. There can be no victory in this war.
Any outcome of the war will be a disaster for Russia. Living in our country will worsen: health care, education, and housing will become even more inaccessible, the rouble will depreciate, prices will rise.
Russia will find itself in complete isolation, all international relations will be destroyed, and it will become a rogue country.
A new round of the arms race will begin and the Cold War will break out – everything that caused the collapse of the USSR, and the likelihood of a world war will increase dramatically.
And most importantly, on both the sides of the Russian-Ukrainian border there will be coffins and funerals, tragedies for mothers, wives and children! This will be beyond remedy then.
Each of us, each of you bears the full responsibility for ensuring that this does not happen!
No to war with Ukraine!
