Today, on October 9th, the politician and public person Boris Nemtsov would have turned 56. YABLOKO Chairman Sergei Mitrokhin, the party founder Grigory Yavlinsky, YABLOKO Political Committee member Sergei Ivanenko and Secretary of the Political Committee Galina Mikhaleva laid flowers to the place where Boris Nemtsov had been murdered on the Bolshoi Moskvoretsky Bridge.

“Less than a year has passed since the tragic death of Boris Nemtsov, no doubt that high ranking officials of our country are involved in this  shocking crime. We are outraged by the fact that the investigation of this case has been turned into farce. We are outraged that the investigation is omitting answers to the evident questions which can directly lead to those who ordered the crime. The substitution of notions is taking place the way it always happens in our country. The attempts to take the investigation away from the truth and real criminals are taking place instead of an objective inquest. We will continue seeking for a fully objective investigation and for bringing to responsibility not only those who committed the crime but those who ordered it no matter what high-rank positions those officials are holding,” said YABLOKO leader Sergei Mitrokhin.

“We will always remember Boris Nemtsov,” added Mitrokhin.

“The feeling of bitterness and loss does not leave me. Nemtsov was a sincere and free person who loved his homeland. The meanness and baseness of those who murdered him is stressed by the fact that it was done a few steps away from the Kremlin. It is a gross political murder, probably the first political murder of such scale in the history of modern Russia. The Kremlin authorities bare full political responsibility for the murder of their opponent. And Boris Nemtsov was a true political opponent of the current course and present authorities. We cherish the memory of Boris Nemtsov,” said Grigory Yavlinsky.
