Yabloko Centre for New Municipal Policy to hold a round table on the safety of municipal deputies

On 22 October, Yabloko Centre for New Municipal Policy will hold a round table on the safety of municipal deputies in Moscow.
Yabloko deputies who were elected to municipal councils in September 2017 have faced pressure on behalf of their opponents, government representatives and law enforcement.
Administrative and even criminal cases were opened against Yabloko municipal deputise and some independent deputies. They also receive threats. According to experts, the pressure will increase. The participants of the round table will discuss the legal status of municipal deputies and the legals aspect of their participation in public activities.
Yabloko invited representative of municipal councils, Moscow City Duma, Moscow City Department for Territorial Governmental Bodies, Presidential Council for Human Rights, Moscow City Directorate of Internal Affairs and Moscow City Prosecutor’s Office.
The round table begins at 12:00. The meeting will be held at the party’s Moscow office (Pyatnitskaya 31, bldg 2). Online broadcasting will be available as well.
