YABLOKO Bureau: On March 1 opposition must conduct anti-war march not anti-crisis one
YABLOKO Bureau adopted a statement proposing all democratic opposition political forces of Russia and all the citizens of Russia to conduct a march on March 1 demanding to immediately stop the war in Ukraine. The demands must be addressed to both President of Russia and President of Ukraine.
YABLOKO Bureau claim that the main reason for the economic crisis became the undeclared war during which Russia annexed Crimea, supported the separatists’ rebel in Eastern Ukraine, Russia is deploying military equipment, weapons and the so called “volunteers” to the separatists.
No other “anti-crisis measures” but the demands to stop the war and “constructive proposals’ during the war are not highlight or possible, claim YABLOKO.
YABLOKO propose the following demands on the Presidents of Russia and Ukraine for the coming anti-war march:
Demands on President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of Russia –
• to immediately issue a decree on the recall of all Russian militaries from Ukraine, propose the volunteers who participate in military actions to return to Russian and take all measures to immediately stop sending heavy armament and weapons to Ukraine
• to call heads of the self-proclaimed republics to complete cease-fire
Demands on President of Ukraine —
• to give an order on troops withdrawal from the action area
Demands on both Presidents—
• the steadfast implementation of the Minsk agreements
• to institute a decision within the UN Security Council on sending the UN peacekeeping forces to the conflict zone to unsure absolute safety of the residents of the region
The anti-war march in Moscow and the other cities of Russia on March 1 will be symbolic because Russia’s Federation Council gave Putin the permission for the use of the Russian army on the territory of Ukraine exactly on March 1, 2014.
The main topic of the Bureau became the coalition policy of the party. The Bureau adopted an address to all the political forces on the creation of political alternative coalition. The text of the coalition will be published soon.
