YABLOKO activists to conduct a picket for the dismissal of the head of Chechnya

On January 26, the Moscow branch of the YABLOKO party will conduct a picket for the dismissal of Ramzan Kadyrov, head of administration of Chechnya. The picket will be held by the office of representation of the Republic of Chechnya in Moscow.
Yesterday Prof. Anton Antonov-Ovseyenko, head of YABLOKO’s community liaison office, submitted, in accordance with the Russian law, an application of the authorities of the Central District of Moscow for a permission to conduct such an action.
Sergei Mitrokhin, Chair of the Moscow branch of YABLOKO, will participate in the action.
“The Russian opposition must respond to the boorish threats [made by Kadyrov],” Mitrokhin said. “At our picket we will demand an apology from Kadyrov and dismissal of Kadyrov from the post of the head of Chechnya from Putin,” he added.
Sergei Mitrokhin did not rule out that a similar picket will be held by the Administration of the Russia President too.
At present the Moscow YABLOKO is waiting for an answer from the authorities, after which a final decision on the format of the action will be taken.
The picketing will be held at the address: 17/27 bldg 1, Astrakhanskiy pereulok, Moscow
The action will start at noon.
