On 12 November, Vladimir Gridin, leader of the Mordovian branch of Yabloko, passed away at the age of 65. Yabloko leaders expressed condolences in connection with the death of the founder of Mordovian Yabloko:
We have lost our faithful comrade, Vladimir Yevgenievich Gridin, founder and leader of the Mordovian branch of Yabloko.
We have worked together for many years. Vladimir Yevgenievich was a faithful and principled Yabloko member, a fearless defender of the rights and freedoms of the residents of Mordovia and our entire country. Such people are a backbone of Russia and Yabloko.
This is a heavy loss for everyone, irreplaceable – no one will replace him.
