The Yabloko party Anti-Corruption Policy Centre found unexpectedly expensive elite real estate (worth almost 0.5 billion roubles) from Talia Khabriyeva, one of the key authors of Putin’s amendments to the Constitution. The investigation is published here.
Since 2001, Taliya Khabriyeva heads the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Russian government. Before that, she worked for three years as Deputy Minister in the field of migration, and before that she was engaged in science and education. Her husband, Ramil Khabriyev, has been taking different civil servant posts for the past 30 years, and is currently Scientific Director of the Semashko Research Medical Institute.
Despite this, the Khabriyev family owns a mansion in the elite area of the Moscow region at a cost of about 350 million roubles. The Khabriyev’s neighbours in the village are the wife of Putin’s Press Secretary Tatyana Navka, Rusal’s top manager, a former Director of Uralvagonzavod and a State Duma deputy.
In addition, the Khabriyevs have apartments on the shores of Lake of Geneva worth at least 100 million roubles and three parking spaces.
In the Anti-Corruption Policy Centre investigation contains many other interesting details of the biography of the Khabriyev spouses.
The Anti-Corruption Policy Centre sent an appeal to the Public Prosecutor General with a demand to check whether an illegal enrichment had taken place in this case.
