Past week YABLOKO’s regional branch in Pskov, North Russia, nominated 145 candidates to run in the regional and local elections on 13 September, 2015
27 of candidates were nominated by a party list and single-mandate constituencies in the district councils of deputies in Kuninsky, Nevelsky and Sebezhsky districts, elected for the sixth term already.
64 candidates were nominated to run for deputies in urban settlements, 52 candidates in rural settlements.
Candidates from the Pskov YABLOKO will participate in the elections in 82 single-mandate and multi-municipal councils in 40 urban and rural munipalities in the Pskov region.
This is the largest nomination of candidates from the Pskov YABLOKO to run in the local self-government elections.
“This campaign is very important for us. The Pskov branch of YABLOKO is virtually the only party consistently and permanently supporting the institute of local self-government. Preparing for the campaign I have travelled about 15,000 km in the Pskov region and visited all the municipalities several times, I held hundreds of meetings with people. It was very important time for me personally, these meetings gave me a lot of information not only in connection with the elections, but also for general understanding of the developments in definite villages and cities,” said Lev Shlosberg, leader of the Pskov branch of YABLOKO and journalist.
A single voting day in Russia will be held this Fall on 13 September, 2015.
