The Nizhny Novgorod branch of Yabloko nominated candidates for the upcoming municipal elections in the Nizhny Novgorod region

On July 4, the Conference of the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of the Yabloko party was held. The Conference nominated candidates for the coming municipal elections in the Nizhny Novgorod region, as well as the City Duma of Nizhny Novgorod.
“Our candidates, including myself, have already begun campaigning actively in the electoral districts. I think that the dream of many Nizhny Novgorod democrats will come true and a real opposition democratic faction will be formed in the City Duma,” Oleg Rodin, leader of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of Yabloko, said.
According to the results of the Conference, the Nizhny Novgorod branch of Yabloko nominated 13 candidates for single-mandate constituencies to the City Duma of Nizhny Novgorod.
The conference also nominated candidates for deputies in the districts of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
It should be noted that deputies of the City Duma of Nizhny Novgorod of the 6th convocation approved the election date for deputies of the City Duma of the 7th convocation on September 13, 2020. The new City Duma will consist of 35 deputies. The term of office of the deputies of the City Duma of Nizhny Novgorod is five years. In February 2020, a new scheme of electoral districts was introduced, according to which the number of deputies of the City Duma of Nizhny Novgorod, a large Russian city with population over one million people, will be reduced by 12 deputies.
