The Moscow YABLOKO Regional Council recommended candidates to run in the Moscow parliamentary elections from the party
Press release, 11.06.2014
The Moscow YABLOKO Regional Council recommended candidates to be considered by the party conference to run in 41 precincts in the Moscow parliamentary elections. The meeting of the Regional Council lasted for seven hours and finished late at night. The candidates represented YABLOKO, other democratic parties and movements and independent candidates.
The candidates presented themselves to the Regional Council and answered questions of the council members. There were 68 candidates for 45 Moscow precincts. The discussion of the candidates was conducted behind closed doors.
There was a hot discussion. In four electoral districts none of the candidates received a majority of votes from the Regional Council. So it was decided to conduct further consultations on these precincts.
The Regional Council developed the following principle for nomination: to nominate those non-YABLOKO activists who agree to sign the memorandum and the agreement on sharing the same values and principles, however, priority was given to YABLOKO’s candidates.
