The Yabloko branch in the Moscow Region is challenging the results of the September elections in courts. Candidates for deputies from the regional branch of Yabloko filed more than 50 lawsuits challenging the results of voting in different polling stations, where observers and members of electoral commissions recorded violations:
Ramenskoye constituency: 11 lawsuits
Korolyov constituency: 6 lawsuits
Klin constituency: 2 lawsuits
Sergiev Posad constituency: 2 lawsuits
Lobnya constituency: 35 lawsuits
Lawsuits were also filed in the Kashira, Khimky and other constituencies of the Moscow Region. Information on some polling stations in these territories is still being collected.
In addition, Yabloko activists filed complaints with the Investigative Committee and the police indicating violations of electoral legislation.
“We do not cherish hopes for a legal and fair result, based on the fact that our candidates were removed on far-fetched pretexts, and we [failed] to challenge this even in the Supreme Court. There is still a lot to be done and a lot will have to be fought for, if not for today’s, then for our future candidates,” Alexander Gunko, Chairman of the regional branch of Yabloko, said.
Earlier, Yabloko filed a complaint with the Central Electoral Commission demanding to invalidate the results of the elections to the State Duma.
It should be noted that the Yabloko party demands that the Central Electoral Commission acknowledges the results of the elections to the State Duma and void and cancels them. The 11-page document outlined the party’s claims to all stages of the election campaign, 16 more pages contain an appendix listing individual substantial violations. However, the Central Electoral Commission decided to dismiss the complaint. In addition, the regional branches of the Yabloko party will also appeal the election results. Hundreds of lawsuits have already been filed to overturn the voting results.
