On 22 November, 2021, the Bureau of the Regional Council of the Moscow regional branch of the YABLOKO party summed up the results of the re-registration of its members, which took place from 1 to 15 November, 2021.
Appointing re-registration, the Bureau of the Regional Council of the Moscow branch of Yabloko, in accordance with the Yabloko By-Laws, formed a Party Commission from the members of the Regional Council of the branch, which made recommendations to the Bureau of the Regional Council basing on the results of its work.
As a result, 240 people retained the status of a registered party member, and 189 members of the Moscow regional branch were denied the status of a registered party member.
The grounds for the decision to deregister a member of the regional branch included, in particular, the following:
– lack of any activity in the party over the past two years;
– support of Yabloko candidates’ rivals in the election campaigns of 2021, as well as voting for the rivals of the Yabloko candidates;
– signing of open letters which, along with criticism of the activities of the party and its leadership, as any member of the democratic party Yabloko has the right to it, contained lies discrediting and causing political and reputational damage to the party;
– violation of the provisions of the By-Laws of the Russian United Democratic Party Yabloko.
An unregistered Yabloko member has all the rights of a party member, except for the right to elect the governing bodies of the party and be elected to them, as well as to participate by voting in the adoption of decisions by these bodies.
Simultaneously with the re-registration, a reconciliation check of the number of members in the Moscow regional branch was carried out on the basis of the data provided earlier by party members. 488 members of the Moscow regional branch did not respond to e-mails and therefore, in accordance with the By-Laws of the Yabloko party, they were recognised as having lost connection with the party and, thus, having left the party. In order to restore their membership in the party, they will need to apply with a corresponding statement to the leadership of the Moscow regional branch.
None of the Moscow Yabloko members were expelled from the party.
Each member of the Moscow regional branch will be notified in writing of his/her status in the party.
Any member of the Moscow branch of Yabloko can appeal against the decision to refuse to grant him/her the status of a registered party member to the Federal Bureau, as well as to the Party Arbitration.
