The Council of Elders established in the Republic of North Ossetia at the initiative of the leader of the North-Ossetian branch of Yabloko

Past week, the Council of Elders was established in North Ossetia. The initiator of the creation of a new association was the United Caucasian Forum, headed by Anatoly Sidakov, Executive Director of the Forum and Chairman of the regional branch of the Yabloko party. Anatoly Sidakov managed to gather together the honorary elders of North Ossetia.
The organisers say that the goal of the Council is to join efforts for the consolidation of the multinational people of North Ossetia and other North Caucasian republics.
The founding congress was held on May 27, the delegates of the congress heard the report “Creation of the public organisation “Council of Elders of North Ossetia”, approved the Charter of the Council, elected the governing bodies and members of the control and the audit commissions.
Salamgeri Tsarakhov was unanimously elected Chairman of the Council of Elders. Nikolai Khlyntsov was elected as the First Deputy Chairman, Kakhraman Alagov and Petr Alkatsev were elected as Deputy Chairmen. The congress delegates also elected the Board and the Small Council.
The event was attended by representatives of religious denominations and different national and cultural societies of North Ossetia.
