Sergei Mitrokhin examined two illegal constructions
Press Release, August 18, 2013
Candidate for Moscow Mayor Sergei Mitrokhin examined two illegal constructions in Strogino and Fili-Davidkovo districts at the request of the residents on August 17.
The residents of the Fili-Davidkovo district told about the illegal infill construction near their apartment buildings and the grove which is being victimised because of the construction. The construction of a new apartment unit is actually planned on the territory of the other three buildings. Despite the fact that this land plot has a difficult hydrogeology, the foundations of the nearby blocks of flats were not examined. The public hearings that were conducted breached the law.
The residents collected more than 200 signatures against the construction of this apartment building. At present Sergei Mitrokhin already sent a compellation to the temporary acting Mayor Sergei Sobyanin to consider the cancellation of the construction and requested to send him the notarised copies of the protocol and the results of the public hearings.
Sergei Mitrokhin and the residents broke the fence and examined the construction site. Neither workmen nor the site manager were present at that time.
At the second construction site, in the Strogino district, a transport interchange station is being built. “This problem exists not only in the Strogino district. The matter is that such constructions are conducted without an agreement with the residents. Moreover, the health and safety regulations are broken”, explained Sergei Mitrokhin.
The transportation connecting point are designed so that the drivers could leave their cars at the parking space and change to the public transport. The transportation connecting points were created to solve the traffic jams problem. But according to Mitrokhin, such constructions can’t take place close to the apartment blocs.
Mitrokhin and the residents entered the construction site and called the police, but couldn’t get the documents as the contractor ran away.
“The authorities claim they there are no other places in Moscow as the urban planning is too compact. In this case illegal shopping centers must be demolished and the residents didn’t give their agreement to the construction as well. Then there will be space for transport connections points”, said Sergei Mitrokhin.
