Police detained an activist during antiwar picketing in memory of Boris Nemtsov

YABLOKO leader Sergei Mitrokhin, Chair of YABLOKO Green Russia faction Alexei Yablokov, secretary of YABLOKO Political Committee Galina Mikhaleva, party’s activists and supporters conducted antiwar picketing under the slogan “No war with Ukraine” at Tverskaya Street.

Thirty activists formed a chain structure form the State Duma to the Mayor’s office on both sides of Tverskaya Street with the placards which said “War murdered Boris Nemtsov”, “War with Ukraine is the Kremlin’s shame”, “War adventures lead to crisis”, “Russians and Ukrainians are fraternal nations” and other.
“We participate in this action as we’ve planned. But we decided to dedicate to the memory of Boris Nemtsov. He stood against the war, that’s why he was murdered. The main version for the murder is his political activisty, and within last year the main order of his work was the fight against war in Ukraine,” said YABLOKO leader.
Activist Victor Balabanov was detained during one-person picketing. He held the placard which said “Putin is war”.
