Today, Alexander Korovainy, a Yabloko party member, was deprived of his deputy powers by the decision of the Council of Deputies of the Yeisk District of the Krasnodar Territory, on the basis of a letter from the head of the regional administration. Also a similar issue will be considered in relation to deputies Yekaterina and Alexander Baturinets in the close perspective.

The main event of the 20th congress of the [ruling] United Russia [party] is neither the re-election of [former Russian President and former PM] Dmitry Medvedev as Chairman of the party (but everyone understands that it is not he who is leading the party).
Nor small and meaningless personnel changes.
Nor the usual Putin demagogy – that allegedly “United Russia performed well during the election campaign” [in the parliamentary elections in September 2021], “won confidently, with a good margin” “once again demonstrating that the party is the rightfully a party-winner” (but we know thing song: we know too well how this “victory” was forged and what falsifications ensured this “advantage”).
The main thing is the solemn handing out of United Russia party cards to the war lords of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) and the Lugansk People’s Republic and (LNR), the marionette “republics” [in Eastern Ukraine] which no one recognized.

Civil funeral rite to commemorate Boris Misnik, Coordinator of the Yabloko Federal Political Committee, and a Yabloko MP in the State Duma of the second convocation (1995 – 1999), will take place at the Yabloko office (Moscow, Pyatnitskaya 31, bldg. 2) on 7 December from 10:00 to 12:00. Boris Misnik will be buried at the Khovanskoye Cemetery in Moscow.

The Constitutional Court of the RF upheld the complaint of Yabloko deputies in the St. Petersburg municipality of Liteiny District and called for a revision of the provision of the federal law on local self-government, which allows the head of the municipality to hold office until his/her successor takes office. Such a legal loophole allowed the ruling United Russia party to hold the post of the head of the municipality for two years, whereas, this person was not elected deputy by the residents of the district.

Yabloko leaders Nikolai Rybakov and Grigory Yavlinsky expressed their condolences to the families of the miners and rescuers killed in the accident in the Listvyazhnaya mine, Kuzbass, the Kemerovo region. 51 people died in the accident. Among the dead were five rescue workers who tried to take miners to the surface after the explosion. This is the largest accident with human victims at a mine in Kuzbass in ten years.

The Moscow City Duma supported Yabloko’s amendments to the Moscow budget for 2 billion roubles

The Yabloko Bureau announced the re-registration of party members

On 19 November, the Yabloko Federal Bureau appointed re-registration of party members.
The re-registration is connected with the reform of the party, announced by the Yabloko party congress on 3-4 April 2021. Then the congress adopted amendments to the Yabloko by-laws, increasing the influence of party members and supporters on the decision-making process in Yabloko, while enhancing the party discipline.

Liberal International’s President Hakima el Haité has condemned the Russian authorities’ threat to shut down Memorial, one of the country’s oldest and most respected human rights organisations.
This is the latest blow against civic freedoms in the regime’s accelerating crackdown on government critics and human rights defenders. By labeling human rights activists, opposition, and journalists as “foreign agents,” the regime attempts to suffocate dissent.
“On behalf of Liberal International I express our solidarity and support for Memorial and the rest of the Russian civil society fighting against the increasing repression in the country”, President El Haité stated.

The Anti-Corruption Policy Centre of the Yabloko party asked the Moscow police to check the apartments where former deputies of the State Duma have been living unlawfully a month after the end of their MP term.
