On July 2, activists of the YABLOKO party together with street musicians will conduct picketing for freedom of artistic expression in Moscow.
Within the past months the street artists have been persecuted by police since their performance is classified as unauthorised public event.

On behalf of the YABLOKO party I express condolences in connection with the death of a person during the flooding in Sochi.
We are waiting for the objective investigation of the circumstances of the tragedy. The opinion of the environmentalists, who claim that new storm water system wasn’t developed during the construction of the Olimpic venues, needs the most careful examination. According to the environmentalists, the reason for the tragedy could have become the destruction of natural water passages during the construction. Read more »

The YABLOKO faction in the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg voted against the law on the implementation of the city budget in 2014 in connection with the systemic shortcomings of the budget process in St. Petersburg, that YABLOKO pointed at at all the stages of adopting of the budget last year, runs the faction’s statement. None of the budget sections was fully implemented in the expenditure part. The budget remained closed to the public, in addition, the performance report is considered before the end of the public hearings on it, which is a violation of the law. According to YABLOKO deputies, changes in the legislation on the city budget are required. Read more »

Public activists challenged Putin’s decree classifying war losses sustained during peacetime special operations a state secret in the Supreme Court. These nine applicants are YABLOKO’s MP in the Pskov Legislative Assembly Lev Shlosberg, human rights defender Ivan Pavlov, journalist Grigory Pasko, Timur Olyevsky and others. Grigory Yavlinsky’s statement on his readiness to participate in the presidential elections in Russia in 2018, was made by us [in YABLOKO] in the context of the upcoming regional elections, which launches a new political cycle. The YABLOKO party issued a Memorandum of Political Alternative. This is a document, which candidates who will run from YABLOKO (including those who are not members of our party) on our party lists and in single-mandate constituencies. One of the points of the memorandum is support for our party and in our campaigns of other levels: the State Duma and the presidential elections. Former head of the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet theatre Boris Mezdrich will head YABLOKO list of candidates at the elections to the Lagislative Assembly of the Novosibirsk region.
Boris Mezdrich was dismissed in March 2015 because of the scandal around Richard Wagner’s opera Tannhauser put on by theatre director Timofei Kulyabin. The play was honored by the audience and music critics but offended the feelings of religious people. Read more »
