Yabloko’s 25th anniversary takes place at a time that is not festive. At the same time, a quarter of a century is an important line to sum ups the results and estimate our abilities. It is important for us and for the country in general.
Our country is involved in two wars. Vladimir Putin’s policy blocks all attempts to lead the economy out of crisis. People are becoming more poor, they lose perspectives, and faith in a decent future for Russia.
Unfortunately, today we can state that the 25 years of the post-Soviet modernisation ended with a failure.Read more »

The YABLOKO party considers the federal budget for 2019 and 2020-2021 to be a desperate attempt by the authorities to preserve the current state of affairs. The bloated public sector of the economy, total inefficiency and corruption are the basis of the present system and do not allow the country to develop. The archaic structure of the economy, its complete dependence on natural resources and the foreign policy that has made Russia a target for sanctions are leading our country to further stagnation.Read more »

The YABLOKO party stands for the priority of education, development of future generations and creation of conditions for their self-realisation. High-quality and affordable education is the foundation of development and prosperity of the country. In the 21st century, it is the education which determines what countries will be able to pave their “road to the future”: develop new technologies, renewable energy, culture and arts, and what countries will remain in the past forever. The Russian authorities do not understand the strategic role of education, which explains the wrong priorities of the state budget [policies] and the incompetent policy of optimization of the social sphere resulting in the closure of schools and institutions of supplementary education, outflow of specialists [from the sector] and endless increase of the burden onto teachers.
A speech by Boris Vishnevsky at the meeting of the Federal Council of Yabloko Press release, 17.12.2018
I see the current state of affairs as darkness before the sun rise. I can see that the darkness is falling but I hope that the sun will rise. It is our task to bring it on.
We have been fighting against it [the darkness] during all the 25 years of Yabloko’s existence. However, it is not possible to understand what to do next if we do not see the reason why darkness fell.
Yabloko will respond to the present challenges and threats with a large-scale modernisation of the party which envisages broadening the party membership and will be based on Yabloko’s social-liberal values, political, moral and intellectual protest against the political system of lies and imitation formed by Vladimir Putin. This decision was made by the Federal Council of the party on December 16.
The main goal of Yabloko remains the same: ensuring human rights and freedoms for all residents of the country, welfare and success of Russia and its citizens, building a modern and efficient democratic state with a powerful market economy that provides equal opportunities for each member of society. The party will work for Russia’s positive future and the universal humanistic values of freedom, peace, trust and solidarity.

“Yabloko should become the party of the real future of Russia: the party of peace, moral choice and values,” Grigory Yavlinsky, Chair of Yabloko Federal Political Committee, said at the meeting of the Federal Council of the Yabloko party.
“It is our responsibility. Our mission is the moral and professional choice in politics. It is crucial that people trust us,” he added.Read more »
