The administration of the Dubna district of the Tula region fulfilled the demand of the Tula branch of Yabloko and cancelled the tender for the purchase of an expensive car for the needs of the administration.  The corresponding entry appeared on the state procurement portal. This happened after the Tula branch of Yabloko demanded that the administration refuse the expensive purchase.

“Hardly there have passed three working days, when under the pressure of criticism from the Yabloko party and local residents, regional administration officials headed by Kirill Guzov decided that they could do without the new Mitsubishi Outlander worth 1,895,000 roubles,” the activists of the regional branch of the party note.

“We do not know whether we have managed the conscience work with the local bureaucrats for a short period of time only, and how long they will be ashamed of their wish to change cars at the expense of people. Maybe in two days a new purchase for 1,999,999 roubles will emerge,” Vladimir Dorokhov, Chairman of the Tula branch of Yabloko noted.

Dorokhov ureged the residents of the district not to stop there and called them to make the head of the administration accountable at a public hearing on the budget, which will be held in the near future, for the attempt of such a purchase.

“We need to ask the local authorities important questions,” Vladimir Dorokhov said. “And a good opportunity for this will turn up in the near future. An announcement for a public hearing on the municipal budget will be published in the district newspaper next week. Every resident of the district has the right to come and inquire whether such impudent expenses have been laid in the budget for the next year, and, if they have been, offer to spend them on something useful. Residents of the Dubna district, do not neglect this opportunity. If you do not control your district head, no one will do it for you,” Dorokhov added.

It should be noted that, according to the Ministry of Finance of the Tula region, the Dubna district, as of the assessment of the level of socio-economic situation, is ranked 19th out of total 26 districts of the Tula region. The revenues of the Dubna district budget for 2020 are planned at 142.9 million roubles. Thus, the cost of purchasing an expensive car is almost 1.5% of the district’s income.
