The action will take place in the Orekhovo-Borisovo Yuzhnoye district of Moscow
Press Release, 03.04.2018
On Saturday, 7 April, residents of the Orekhovo-Borisovo Yuzhnoye district will hold a flash mob “Let Us Embrace the School Stadium” which the authorities plan to take away from the school under development. The organiser of the action is the initiative group, which includes Vadim Lebedevich, representative from the Yabloko party.
The authorities plan to build an additional building for School No 1636 (Yasenevaya street, 21k3) on the territory of the school football field. The authorities promise to make a new football field nearby, however, it should be in the place of a grove. This means they have to cut down the grove which is so dear to local residents – by old tradition every year graduates of the school plant trees there.
Muscovites propose to build a new building of the school in another place, and there is such a place in the area for this. At public hearings, local residents protested against building up the football field and cutting the grove, they collected dozens of signatures for preservation of the football field, but the authorities did not listen.
“We will continue to fight for our right to a favorable environment by different means. We are organizing a public action in the form of a flash mob, which we will be held next weekend,” Vadim Lebedevich says.
The participants of the action will “embrace” the stadium with a live chain. This requires about 250 people.
The action will begin at 12:45.
Location: Yasenevaya street, 21k3.
