Moscow branch of YABLOKO supported rally against political reprisals
Press release, 25.01.2016
On 23 January, the activists of the Moscow branch of YABLOKO participated in a rally against political reprisals and in support of Ildar Dadin and other political prisoners. About 700 people came to take part in the action.
The rally was conducted by journalist Anastasia Zotova, the bride of Ildar Dadin, the political prisoner who was charged with three years at a penal colony under article 212.1 of the Criminal Code for repeatedly breaking Russian protest laws.
“The main thing that each of us must do today is not to fall under the influence of the deceptive propaganda, not to spread it and refute it. The Russian authorities have come to the dead end are trying to advertise the society model of the collapsed Soviet Union proposing that the citizens should renounce their political freedoms for momentary prosperity. This is an obvious lie and nonsense”, commented Grigory Semyonov, deputy Chair of the Moscow branch of YABLOKO.
