A group of unidentified men dressed in black private security uniforms and the White Guard military uniforms beat member of the Regional council of the Moscow branch of YABLOKO, municipal deputy Nikolai Pinyasov on May 29. YABLOKO appealed to Moscow Prosecutor Sergei Kudeneyev with the demand to bring the guilty to responsibility and punish them.

According to Pinyasov, he arrived at No 9 Burlakova Street to observe the demolition of an unlawful parking space. He was attacked and beaten when he was giving an interview for the TV Tsentr channel.

“I expressed my opinion in favour of the residents who are the true owners of the building surrounding grounds. The “defenders” and “owners” of the parking space didn’t have any documents or facts proving its lawfulness,” said the deputy.

Nikolai Pinyasov called the police himself after the attack as none of the present did it.

When the police officers arrived they didn’t check the documents of the attackers, didn’t establish their identity and didn’t detain them though one of the attackers had firearms and frankly showed it.

YABLOKO leader Sergei Mitrokhin appealed to Moscow Persecutor with the demand to find and punish the guilty.

The problem of demolition of illegal parking spaces at Sokolinaya gora district of Moscow remains open. The prefecture which is responsible for liquidation of unlawful parking spaces evades its duty.
