Grigory Yavlinsky on the murder of Boris Nemtsov
Grigory Yavlinsky’s blog in Live Journal, 28.02.2015
The murder of Boris Nemtsov is a war which came to us visibly and blatantly. He opposed it and tried to stop the death of Ukrainians and Russians who became victims of the cynical military propaganda.
He was hated for this the same way as they hate all the opponents of the war who dared to call things by their names – annexation, aggression, fratricide.
The political responsibility for this crime lies on the authorities and personally on Vladimir Putin, whose launched the war, continue it and holds a propaganda campaign of hatred in support of this war. The moral and humane responsibility is on those who is involved in this campaign.
I categorically demand a competent and impartial investigation of a demonstrative and extremely blatant political murder of Boris Nemtsov.
I consider it necessary for all the true opposition forces to call for a continuing civil and political antiwar campaign.
Until the war is terminated – both in Ukraine, and here, inside the Russian society – every political and civil public statement and action should demand this.
Overcoming the consequences of this mean and criminal war is a longstanding task for the Russian society.
