Emilia Slabunova asked Public Prosecutor General of Karelia to check on the new criteria for evaluating the work of doctors
Press Release, 19.02.2019
Emilia Slabunova, Yabloko party Chairperson and an MP of the Legislative Assembly of Karelia, asked Karen Gabrielyan, Public Prosecutor General of Karelia, to check on the new criteria for evaluating the work of doctors.
On 14 January, 2019, the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Karelia established new indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of district physicians, general practitioners and departments heads. According to the new criteria, their work is recognised as effective if there were no more than ten ambulance calls and no more than two deaths in their district per month.
These figures differ from those approved by the Ministry of Healthcare of Russia, Emilia Slabunova emphasized in the letter.
According to Slabunova, the indicators proposed by the Ministry of Healthcare of Karelia contain the reasons affecting health that can be hardly managed or controlled and do not take into account a variety of objective factors (different standards of living and solvency of patients, socio-demographic differences in different areas, etc.).
“I am asking you to check the specified normative act of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Karelia for compliance with the federal legislation, including its propensity for corruption, and inform me of the results,” Slabunova wrote in her address to the Public Prosecutor General of Karelia.
