The Yabloko party appeals to the citizens of Russia with a call to support candidates the elections at all levels on September 8, 2024, who advocate concluding a ceasefire agreement and who defend peace and freedom in the current conditions. It is with this position that all candidates nominated and supported by our party in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Leningrad region, the Moscow region, the Murmansk region, the Novgorod region, the Pskov region, the Rostov region, and the Ryazan and the Irkutsk regions are running in the elections.
The Russian United Democratic Party Yabloko does not support candidates in the federal, regional and local elections of 2024 who do not agree with the initiative to conclude a ceasefire agreement and who do not defend peace and freedom in the current conditions. This means that Yabloko does not support candidates from the political parties represented in the State Duma.
The State Duma factions of all these parties voted for repressive laws that brought our country to the current situation, including criminal punishment for people who disagree with the government, the denunciation of arms control treaties, and Russia’s withdrawal from the jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights.
In addition, the position of these parties is completely at odds with Yabloko’s position on key issues of the economy, the growth of citizens’ well-being and income, and the development of social programmes.
We urge citizens not to vote for candidates from the parties represented in the State Duma.
Yabloko is considering and will consider supporting independent candidates in these elections who publicly support the conclusion of a ceasefire agreement and share our principles and values.
In the 2024 elections, hundreds of our candidates at different levels were not allowed to run in the elections with the help of obedient electoral commissions and courts, on absurd and far-fetched grounds.
Nevertheless, we continue to work and will use any legal opportunity to convey to the citizens of our country our political position: human life is the highest value. We will continue to fight for this and we call on you to join us.
Make your choice on 8 September – For Peace and Freedom! For the Ceasefire Agreement!
Nikolai Rybakov
Yabloko Chairman
