Candidate for the post of the Governor of the Moscow region from Yabloko submitted documents to the electoral commission for registration

Today, on 22 June, Nikolai Dizhur, candidate for the Governor of the Moscow region from the Yabloko party, submitted documents to the regional electoral commission for registration in the race.
Now he can start collection of signatures for registration in the election campaign. Until 5 July, Nikolai Dizhur must collect 98 signatures of deputies and heads of settlements and another 98 signatures of deputies and heads of municipal districts and city districts.
Nikolai Dizhur is head of the Yabloko faction in the Council of Deputies of Chekhov City District, Moscow Region. In 2003 – 2017 he was deputy of the Council of Deputies of Serpukhov district of the Moscow region, in 2004 – 2013 – chairman of the Council of Deputies. Nikolai Dizhur is leader of the public organisation “Civil Forum of Local Self-Government”. He organized a number of major protest actions against the destruction of local self-government in the Moscow region and for the closure of garbage dumps.
On 17 June, the conference of the Moscow Region branch of Yabloko took the decision to nominate Nikolai Dizhur party candidate at the coming gubernatorial elections. Dmitry Trunin, Deputy Chairman of the party’s regional branch, also competed to for nomination to run at the gubernatorial elections from the party, but he received only 12 votes against 32 for Dizhur.
This Fall Yabloko also intends to take part in the gubernatorial elections in the Pskov region and the mayoral election in Moscow. Vitaly Arshinov, head of the Plyussky district of the Pskov region, was nominated by Yabloko to run for the governor of the Pskov region. A conference of the Moscow branch of Yabloko will elect candidate for the Mayor of Moscow in the evening of 22 June.
