Boris Vishnevsky applied to police in connection with libel launched against him

Boris Vishnevsky, head of the Yabloko faction in the St.Petersburg Legislative Assembly, applied to the police station of Primorsky distrcit in connection with libel launched against him. It is in this disrtict of St. Petersburg that the media of the Patriot media group (head of the board of trustees is Yevgeny Prigozhin associated with Vladimir Putin close circle) were registered. The media has been conducting an information attack against Yabloko’s MP of the Legislative Assembly for more than a week basing on false and anonymous charges.
Boris Vishnevsky demands that the law enforcement investigate into the case and bring the organisers and distributors of libel and lies to criminal liability under Article 128.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (libel).
Vishnevsaky stressed that the political order in the flow of slanderous publications is obvious.
“What the villains from Yevgeny Prigogin’s mud bath and state television channels shave been spreading about me is an absolute lie. This is the revenge of the authorities for my political activity and political stance, for exposing frauds with the [city] budget and tariffs, for fighting for our city, protecting political prisoners, and Yabloko’s victory in the municipal elections in the Central District,” the head of the Yabloko faction emphasised.
The Yabloko party issued a statement demanding that the administration of St. Petersburg immediately stop the information campaign against Vishnevsky, and that law enforcement agencies to launch an investigation against its organisers.
