The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Chelyabinsk Region has suspended the auction of the Magnitogrosk Mayor’s Office for the purchase of an expensive car for the needs of officials. Earlier, Yaroslav Shcherbakov, Chairman of the Chelyabinsk branch of Yabloko, filed a complaint with the Federal Antimonopoly Service about the purchase. The auction is suspended until consideration of the complaint on the merits. By 21 December, the administration of Magnitogorsk must submit to all the documentation for the expensive procurement to the Federal Antimonopoly Service.
“I demanded to cancel this purchase because of the excess of the car’s marginal cost of 2.5 million rubles, which the city administration had set for itself earlier, as well as because of excessive technical characteristics that are unjustified and limit the choice of a car to a specific brand and model – Volkswagen Comfortline Long 2.0 biTDI DSG 4Motion”, Yaroslav Shcherbakov noted.
It should be noted that on 9 December, the Magnitogorsk Mayor’s Office opened a tender for the purchase of a passenger car for its own needs. Basing on the requirements for the supplier, it was supposed to be a five-door all-wheel drive minivan produced in 2021, black, with toning and climate control.
