Activist of the Krasnodar branch of Yabloko was fined for his repost of the video on the lack of schools in Krasnodar

Alexander Safronov, member of the Yabloko party from the city of Yeisk in the Krasnodar region, was found guilty of committing an administrative offense under Article 20.33 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation “Conducting activities of an undesirable organistion on the territory of the Russian Federation” because of his repost on Facebook of a video by the Open Russia organisation about the lack of schools in Krasnodar.
The court in Yeisk adopted such a decision on 21 March. According to this decision, Alexander Safronov has to pay a fine of 5,000 roubles.
“I will appeal this decision to higher instances, up to the ECHR,” Alexander Safronov commented on the court’s decision.
Safronov said that he was not a member of Open Russia and did not consider that he had committed any administrative offense, since the video was not included into the list of extremist materials and was not prohibited.
It should be also noted that another case against Alexander Korovainy, deputy of the Yeisk District Council from the Yabloko party, had been filed in the Krasnodar region earlier. Karavainy was accused of reposting on Facebook, MBH-Media’s pictures on the growth of prices, as was also blamed for conducting activities of an undesirable organisation (Article 20.33 of the Administrative Code).
