A most popular Russian social network VKontakte blocked the page of Boris Vishnevsky, MP of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg from Yabloko and Deputy Chairman of the party. The social network referred to a notification from the Public Prosecutor General’s Office dated May 20. According to the Public Prosecutor Genera, Boris Vishnevsky’s page contained “inaccurate socially significant information aimed at destabilising the socio-political situation in the Russian Federation”.
Vishnevsky wrote an appeal to the Public Prosecutor General’s Office, demanding to indicate what exactly the prosecutors had meant, what specific information posted on his page had been regarded as “inaccurate” and “destabilizing the socio-political situation”.
“This is complete nonsense, I don’t have any such information on the page. In general, the “socio-political situation” is destabilised by the absurd decisions of the authorities, and not by posts in social networks,” Boris Vishnevsky emphasised.
Over 11.500 people have been following Boris Vishnevsky’s page in the VKontakte network.
Boris Vishnevsky also has pages in other social networks: Telegram, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Earlier, VKontakte had blocked the pages of Emilia Slabunova, MP of the Karelian Legislative Assembly, Lev Shlosberg, the leader of the Pskov bbranch of Yabloko, and Anna Cherepanova, Chariwoman of the Novgorod branch of Yabloko.
