On 24 October, the second stage of the 22nd Conference of the St. Petersburg regional branch of Yabloko took place. The delegates elected the governing bodies of St. Petersburg Yabloko: the Chairman, the Bureau and the Regional Council. It should be noted that the leadership of Yabloko’s branches is elected for a two-year term.
Yabloko Chairman Nikolai Rybakov, a member of the St. Petersburg regional branch, took part in the Conference as a delegate.
Dmitry Anisimov, a historic preservation activist, Candidate of Political Sciences and deputy of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly, was elected Chairman of St. Petersburg Yabloko.
Anisimov succeeded Olga Tsepilova, a member of the party’s Federal Bureau and Chair of the party’s Green Russia faction, who had led the branch since 2024.
At today’s Conference, Olga Tsepilova presented her final report, emphasising, among other things, that strong cooperation between generations of politicians had developed within St. Petersburg Yabloko.
It should be noted that Dmitry Anisimov was born in Leningrad in 1991 and graduated from the Institute of Philosophy of St. Petersburg State University. He has been a member of Yabloko since 2017 and previously served as Deputy Chairman of the St. Petersburg branch. In May 2026, Anisimov became a deputy of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly of the seventh convocation. In the 2026 State Duma elections, he was number two on the federal part of Yabloko’s list. He is an active participant in the movement to preserve the city’s historical heritage.
The following were elected Deputy Chairs of St. Petersburg Yabloko:
- Yegor Karpenkov;
- Alexander Kobrinsky;
- Olga Shtannikova.
The Bureau of St. Petersburg Yabloko consists of 11 members:
- Dmitry Anisimov (Chairman);
- Yegor Karpenkov (Deputy Chairman);
- Alexander Kobrinsky (Deputy Chairman);
- Olga Shtannikova (Deputy Chair);
- Boris Vishnevsky;
- David Zudin;
- Yegor Kravtsov;
- Vladimir Molodozhenya;
- Andrei Ovinsky;
- Dmitry Khorzov;
- Alexander Shishlov.
During the Conference, the delegates discussed the results of the recent election campaign, the current political situation in the country and in St. Petersburg, and the branch’s priorities. The key tasks they identified include consistently defending and promoting the party’s programme and the idea of the peaceful settlement of conflicts, preserving party structures under pressure, working with new party members, including through educational projects, and comprehensively protecting the interests and rights of St. Petersburg residents.
Dmitry Anisimov, newly elected Chairman of St. Petersburg Yabloko said:
“Hard times are no reason to lose heart or give up. The main outcome of the recent elections is that everyone has seen that the ideas of peace, freedom and a life without fear are shared by dozens of millions of our fellow citizens. Our most important task is to keep those who have joined the party and to continue working for the good of the city and the country. We understand that, had it not been for the unlawful removals from the election race and other unconstitutional procedures and manipulations, we would undoubtedly have received a mandate from a significant part of society, and it would have been reflected in the official election results as well. This understanding will guide our further work.”
St. Petersburg Yabloko is one of the party’s oldest regional branches. It has traditionally acted as the party of St. Petersburg residents, defending the rights and interests of the city and its people.
