Yabloko Deputy Chairman Maxim Kruglov has been transferred from the Butyrka pre-trial detention facility in Moscow, where he spent about a year, to a general regime penal colony. We will provide further information about his arrival at the colony and where he will serve his sentence.
On 24 June 2026, Kruglov was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment and a three-year ban on administering websites under the article on “disseminating false information about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation” (Article 207.3(2)(d) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The criminal prosecution was based on two Telegram posts calling for peace, which he wrote in early April 2022.
