On the final day for filing claims, new demands arrive at courts to remove Yabloko candidates from the elections

Press Release, 9.09.2026

9 September is the last day on which parties and candidates may apply to the courts to have their rivals’ registration in the State Duma elections revoked. On this day, there were reported new court proceedings against Yabloko candidates in several Russian regions. Hearings on claims already filed will continue over the following days.

9 September

In the Moscow Region, the court heard new claims against Yabloko candidates.

Sergei Kryzhov, Chairman of Moscow Region Yabloko and candidate for Sergiyev Posad single-mandate constituency No. 127, was removed from the elections by a ruling of the Moscow Region Court. The ruling has not entered into legal force.

The same day saw a hearing scheduled in the case of Maya Zavyalova, Yabloko’s candidate for Dmitrov single-mandate constituency No. 119. Information on the outcome of the hearing is being confirmed.

In the Chelyabinsk Region, three court cases against party candidates became known at once.

The Chelyabinsk Regional Court revoked the registration of Andrei Talevlin, Yabloko’s candidate for Metallurgichesky single-mandate constituency No. 189. Talevlin had not had time to review the claim before the hearing.

A further claim has been filed against Valentina Komkova, the candidate for Zlatoust single-mandate constituency No. 192.

The hearing in the case of Oksana Boyarskaya, the candidate for Korkino single-mandate constituency No. 190, had been due to take place on 9 September, but was postponed to 11 September owing to her hospitalisation.

The day before, on 8 September, the Chelyabinsk Regional Court had already revoked the registration of Yaroslav Shcherbakov, Chairman of the party’s regional branch and candidate for Chelyabinsk single-mandate constituency No. 188.

In the Krasnodar Territory, on 9 September, a claim was filed with the territorial court by the Greens party seeking to revoke the registration of Vladimir Atamanchuk, Yabloko’s candidate for Yuzhny single-mandate constituency No. 54.

10 September

The Supreme Court of the Chuvash Republic will hear two claims against Yabloko candidates.

At 10:00, a hearing will be held on a claim brought by Viktor Makarov, a candidate from the Communists of Russia, against Viktor Stenshin, Yabloko’s candidate for Kanash single-mandate constituency No. 42.

At 13:30, the court will hear a claim brought by Konstantin Konovalov, a candidate from the Greens party, against Vladislav Arkadyev, Yabloko’s candidate for Cheboksary single-mandate constituency No. 43.

11 September

The Smolensk Regional Court will hear, at 10:00, a claim brought by Darya Shavrikova against the electoral commission and against Larisa Dolzhikova, Yabloko’s candidate for Smolensk single-mandate constituency No. 176.

On the same day, the postponed hearing in the case of Oksana Boyarskaya is due to take place in the Chelyabinsk Region.

Rulings revoking candidates’ registration issued by courts of first instance may be appealed and do not end a candidate’s participation in the election campaign before they enter into legal force.

Should all the court rulings revoking registration enter into force, a total of 17 Yabloko single-mandate candidates could be removed from the elections as a result of claims filed by other parties. In that event, the party’s candidates would remain in 104 single-mandate constituencies.

Yabloko regards these claims as part of an organised campaign to remove pro-peace and pro-freedom candidates from the elections.
