The Yabloko party is launching a nationwide campaign “Russia for Peace and Freedom”. As part of it, any Russian citizen who wishes may receive a “Peace Package” by post free of charge — a set of the party’s printed campaign materials, including leaflets and posters — and use it to tell their family, friends and neighbours about Yabloko’s position.

While Yabloko continues to fight in the courts for the reinstatement of the party’s federal list for the State Duma elections, the “Russia for Peace and Freedom” campaign will take place across the country, regardless of whether a particular town or district has a party candidate standing in a single-mandate constituency.

“You cannot simply wave away the ideas of peace and freedom. You cannot fold your hands and watch people die. We are continuing our campaign so that people in Russia and their loved ones can live without fear.  And it is not only about the upcoming vote. Life does not end with the elections on 20 September. It is important that people in every home in Russia, in every family in our country, know about Yabloko and our position. Tell your family and neighbours about our ideas. Today this matters more than ever. Don’t be afraid, don’t lose heart. Together we will overcome everything!” Yabloko addresses its supporters.

Along with the campaign materials, participants will receive a safety guide to help make conversations with those around them more comfortable.
