YABLOKO to participate in round table “Tortures in Russia: failure to implement the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights”

A round table called “Tortures in Russia: failure to implement the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights of the part of Article 3 of the European Convention” will take place on April 10. YABLOKO’s member and former Bolotnaya Square rally case prisoner Nikolai Kavkazsky will participate in the event.
The experts will discuss if there are effective international mechanisms against tortures and consider international experience in fighting it.
The representatives of public and observation commissions, Russia’s Ombudsman, members of the Presidential Council for Human Rights, members of the Public Chamber of Russia, representatives of Russia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Investigative Committee, Russia’s General Prosecutor’s Office, the Federal Service for Execution of Punishment, lawyers, human rights advocates, relatives of the prisoners who went through tortures an so on will participate in the discussion.
