A judge of Pskov Regional Court has rejected the appeal lodged by Yabloko Deputy Chairman Lev Shlosberg and his defence against the order remanding the politician in custody until 2 June. Pskov Yabloko reported this on 13 April.
Lev Shlosberg attended the hearing via video link from the remand prison. The proceedings were held behind closed doors. Members of the public and press were barred from the courtroom from the outset and were permitted to attend only the delivery of the ruling.
It should be noted that on 3 December 2025 a third criminal case was opened against Yabloko Deputy Chairman Lev Shlosberg — under Article 207.3, Part 2, of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (on the so-called “fakes about the army”) — in connection with a repost made to a Telegram channel in February 2022. However, the relevant article was not added to the Criminal Code until March 2022. In the course of subsequent proceedings, Lev Shlosberg and his defence stated that the date of the alleged offence, as charged, had been falsified in the materials of the third criminal case. The politician has not admitted guilt.
On 17 April, the Pskov City Court will continue hearing Lev Shlosberg’s appeal against the sentence handed down in another criminal case against him concerning “foreign agent labels”. On 5 October, a magistrate judge sentenced the politician to 420 hours of community service for five videos belonging to other users that had been saved to his personal VKontakte page. This is the first such case in Russian judicial practice.
