On 15 April, Yabloko’s Moscow office will host a screening of the documentary Die Unbeugsamen (The Unbowed, 2021). The film tells the stories of women in West Germany who fought for their place in democratic politics — both in the country at large and within their own parties.
Unbowed, ambitious, and endlessly patient, they pursued their path in defiance of prejudice and discrimination. Their recollections are at once funny and bitter, absurd and disturbingly relevant.
Documentary director Torsten Körner has crafted an emotionally powerful chronicle of West German politics from the 1950s to German reunification, interwoven with previously unpublished archival footage.
The official trailer is available on YouTube (https://youtu.be/GQFtk_BthIs?is=OCjOyZD1On2n4GJg ).
The film will be screened in German with Russian subtitles.
The event will take place on 15 April at the party’s office at 31/2 Pyatnitskaya, Moscow. It begins at 19:00.
Advance registration is required (https://party-yabloko.timepad.ru/event/3917971/ ).
