We know Maxim Kruglov well. He has been a member of the Yabloko party for more than 20 years, holds a Candidate of Political Science degree, and is a specialist in anti-corruption policy. In the 2019 Moscow City Duma elections, he received around 40% of the vote and led our faction [in the Moscow parliament].
In 2023, Kruglov was elected Deputy Chairman of the party. He has always acted openly, legally and stood by his constituents, fighting for Russia’s future, a peaceful, free and prosperous future for his voters.
Maxim Kruglov has never disseminated false information, has always defended the fundamental interests of ordinary people, and has comprehensively and thoroughly supported international peace and security together with the party.
As a political leader of the region of Moscow, Maxim Kruglov has uncompromisingly defended the political and ideological interests of Russian citizens. He has always spoken fairly and unequivocally against killing people, the destruction of towns and villages, against confrontation and growing economic problems and difficulties.
In practical contemporary politics, Maxim Kruglov advocates the need for the earliest possible conclusion of a ceasefire agreement and the beginning of peace negotiations.
I affirm that Maxim is an honest, decent and selfless person. As a true citizen of his country, he has never acted and will never act to the detriment of its interests.
The arrest and accusations against Maxim Kruglov are either a dramatic mistake or a provocation. We will do everything necessary and possible to defend truth and justice, and to secure Kruglov’s release from the remand centre.
