Yabloko proposes that South Urals residents support candidates in single-mandate constituencies participating in the elections to the Chelyabinsk Region Legislative Assembly under the slogan “For Peace and Freedom! For the Ceasefire Agreement!”. To participate in the elections, each Yabloko candidate needs to collect more than 2,500 signatures from district residents. The conference of the Chelyabinsk regional branch of the party took place on 12 June.

Yabloko nominated the following candidates to run for to the Chelyabinsk Region Legislative Assembly:

District No. 9 (part of Miass city): Valentina Komkova , human rights defender, Chairwoman of Miass Yabloko. Has two higher education degrees – pedagogical and legal. Initiated the creation of the public movement “Miass for People”. Organised help for large families who found themselves in difficult life situations during the pandemic. Defends the interests of citizens and legal entities in courts.

District No. 12 (part of Kaliningrad and Kurchatov districts of Chelyabinsk): Andrey Talevlin, environmentalistt, lecturer (associate professor) at Chelyabinsk State University, candidate of legal sciences.

District No. 16 (Central district and part of Traktorzavodsky district of Chelyabinsk): Yaroslav Shcherbakov, Chairman of Chelyabinsk Yabloko, lawyer.

District No. 18 (Part of Lenin and Soviet districts of Chelyabinsk): Natalya Tavrina, doctor at Chelyabinsk City Clinical Hospital No. 1.

District No. 25 (October municipal district, Troitsk and Troitsk municipal district of Chelyabinsk Region): Sergei Shichkov, fire service employee. Served in the Ministry of Emergency Situations as head of a fire station, then worked for a long time in Troitsk Mayor’s Office in managerial positions, dealing with construction and environment. Was nominated for city mayor.

Elections to the Legislative Assembly of the Chelyabinsk Region will take place on 14 September.
