For many years, the Saratov region has been experiencing an acute shortage of specialists in socially significant areas, primarily in healthcare and education. The Saratov branch of Yabloko sent proposals to the Governor of the Saratov Region and the Reception Office of the Chairman of the State Duma that would help reduce the personnel shortage – expanding the list of organisations where alternative civilian (non-military) service is possible. Last week, Yabloko received a letter from the Government of the Saratov Region, which supported the idea of expanding the list of organisations for alternative civilian service.
The Saratov Yabloko notes that the support measures, both at the federal and regional levels, still have not contributed to an increase in personnel. At the same time, there is hope that this response from regional officials is one of the few responses from competent authorities on the merits that will help solve a long-standing problem. A list of 18 organisations that may employ citizens undergoing alternative non-military civilian service has been sent to the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation.
It should be noted that the list of organisations for undergoing alternative civilian service does not include the organisations of the secondary general education. Saratov Yabloko considers it appropriate to include such organisations in the list, if they experience a shortage of personnel.
